The list of detention sites below represents a partial listing of information from the Global Detention Project's database of detention sites, which we plan to make available in the future. This list is not necessarily a comprehensive register of sites currently in operation in a given country, nor does the list provide information about ad hoc sites of detention that do not appear to be regularly used to hold non-citizens in administrative detention. Also, please note that although project researchers endeavour to provide as up-to-date information as possible, sources of information are quickly outdated and frequently contradictory . This list should thus not be viewed as evidence that a particular site remains in service. In addition, readers may note that the number of sites listed here is not the same as the number of sites indicated in the text of the profile of the country in question. This map should thus not be viewed as evidence that a particular site remains in service or that the information about the sites is currently valid.
