ABOUT

The Plaisir detention center, opened in 2006 with 32 places including beds for women, initially had no separation between men and women and stopped accommodating women in 2013. After renovation work in 2016, its capacity was reduced to 26 beds.The number of detained migrants has been steadily rising since 2012, with detention periods becoming significantly longer in 2023 and 2024.
