ABOUT

The first Metz detention center, a temporary 30‑place site opened in 2007, closed in 2009 when the current 98‑place facility opened. Since the 26 January 2024 law banning the detention of children, 24 places are now reserved for women, and an increasing number of trafficking victims are being held in this detention center.
